Trauma-Informed Somatic Based Yoga
Why Trauma-Informed Somatic Based Yoga
Along with walking and EMDR (a specialized trauma therapy), yoga has been another very important component in healing my body, mind and spirit.
I’ve lived with Chronic Pain since I was 22 and trauma for several years now. Traditional Western Yoga oftentimes exacerbates this pain and can be at times re-traumatizing.
In Somatic based yoga, we go into the areas of tension and pain, and with exquisite awareness release, stabilize, and strengthen our bodies. Trauma-informed yoga gives each person agency over their body and their innate wisdom allowing you to decide what your body needs and how much.
You can see my trainings in each in the About section of my website.
